TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes is a leading cultural institution in the Canary Islands dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art, photography and audiovisual creation. Through its exhibition and publishing programmes, the centre fosters projects that broaden the dialogue between artists, audiences and the local territory. Within this context, the publication Temblando, me llevo el sol a la boca was produced to accompany the exhibition by Canarian artist Jesús Hernández Verano.
The book accompanies an exhibition that reflects on vulnerability, the body and human relationships from a poetic perspective. The artist himself describes this space as a place where “putting ourselves at risk means surrendering control”, an invitation to abandon certainties and open ourselves to new forms of connection and experience. The publication’s design, developed by Arce Estudio, reinforces this conceptual approach through a structure that plays with layers, transparencies and mirror effects, turning the book into an extension of the exhibition experience.
The publication has been printed in LED UV offset on Arena Natural Smooth paper by Fedrigoni Paper, both for the 300 g cover and the 96 interior pages printed on 120 g stock. The volume also includes two fold-out inserts printed on semi-transparent paper, IBO 60 g by Unión Papelera, and six mirror pages produced on coated paper laminated with gloss gold polyester, introducing visual variations throughout the reading experience. The edition features a Swiss binding with exposed gold thread, and a cover incorporating circular die-cuts that reinforce the publication’s physical and experimental dimension.
