Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2024

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is an international reference event in the children’s and young adult book sector. With over 50 years of history, the Bologna Fair is a meeting point for editors, authors, and professionals from all over the world, and it is the most important international projection of the children’s book sector.

This April marked the 61st edition of the fair, an edition full of reasons for celebration. In the 2024 edition, three publishers based in Barcelona have received outstanding recognitions, consolidating the city as a reference in the publishing sector.

Among them, Akiara Books, directed by Inês Castel-Branco, received a special mention in the fiction category for her work “Thank You, Mother Earth!”, a fold-out illustrated book over three meters long that captures the beauty and gratitude towards nature in a unique and special way. It includes a collection of indigenous poetry exquisitely illustrated by Vanina Starkoff, with Agpograf having the pleasure of collaborating in the production.

On the other hand, Mosquito Books, a small publishing house based in Gràcia, has been awarded as the best children’s publisher of the year in Europe. Lluís Cassany and his daughter Mia received this recognition for their commitment to publishing non-fiction illustrated books, showing exceptional talent and commendable dedication.

From Agpograf, we congratulate them and are grateful to be so close to excellent publishers like Akiara Books and Mosquito Books, with whom we have shared projects and dreams. These well-deserved recognitions reaffirm our mission to concentrate our efforts on producing high-quality printed works.
