The “la Caixa” Foundation hosted the travelling exhibition Revered and Feared, a journey through the representation of powerful women across different cultures, from antiquity to the present day. Curated by the British Museum, the exhibition brings together more than 120 pieces that explore how fascination and fear have defined the role of women throughout history —between divinity and myth, between respect and transgression.
The catalogue, published by the foundation and coordinated by Editorial Tenov, accompanies the exhibition as a reference editorial piece. The design, by Carles Murillo, visually translates the project’s dual concept —between the sacred and the feared— through a carefully crafted edition in two language versions: Catalan and Spanish. Each edition is distinguished by a cover color, a specific Pantone, and tinted edges (green or orange), thus reinforcing the identity of each volume.
The book consists of 320 pages printed in 5 colors (CMYK and Pantone) using LED UV printing. The cover, in Colorplan Marrs Green or Colorplan Mandarin by GF Smith, features a white base print with a screen-printed raised UV finish and tinted edges. The interior is printed on Munken Lynx Rough by Munken Paper and perfect bound with sewn binding.
