The Josep Mestres Cabanes Foundation and the Museu de Manresa are publishing a book that compiles the works of the Manresa-born artist with the aim of spreading his legacy and contribution to scenography and painting. The publication, featuring nearly 1,000 reproduced works, serves as an essential resource for better understanding the figure of Mestres Cabanes, one of the great names in 20th-century Catalan art.
The catalogue-book, published in Catalan, Spanish, and English, consists of 400 pages divided into seven chapters, each exploring different aspects of Mestres Cabanes’ work—from his pictorial production to his scenographic designs, as well as his work as a muralist and graphic designer.
Under the editorial direction of Ignasi Torres, the design of Jordi Mestres, and the graphic production of Oficina 200Bis, the book project arrives at the printing workshop of Agpograf for printing and binding. The book is printed using LED UV offset on a semi-matte coated paper from Unión Papelera and recycled paper Cyclus Offset from Antalis for the interior, with Sirio White from Fedrigoni Paper for the endpapers. The volume is bound in hardcover, sewn, and covered in green Fancy fabric from Winter Company. The covers and flat spine feature a black screen print that matches the black headbands.
