Border Environments CRA #1

Spector Books

The book Border Environments is a publication by the Centre for Research Architecture (CRA) at Goldsmiths, University of London, and published by Spector Books. It is part of the Research Architecture series, which explores the relationships between the environment, technology, and border practices from an interdisciplinary perspective. The volume brings together contributions from various authors and projects that analyse the political and ecological effects of borders.

The project has involved the collaboration of the Barcelona-based studio Oficina de Disseny, responsible for the visual conception of the book, as well as the CRA editors —Riccardo Badano, Tomas Percival, and Susan Schuppli— who coordinated the content and structure of the publication. The result is a clear and coherent approach to complex topics such as ecology, migration, and their intersection with political and technological practices.

The book cover is printed on 240 g matte graphic board Invercote, using offset printing in a single ink (black) and finished with acrylic varnish for a clean and solid presentation. The 172 interior pages are printed in CMYK on 90 g Arena White Rough paper from Fedrigoni Paper. For the binding, a sewn paperback was chosen, ensuring durability and allowing the book to open comfortably for continuous reading and consultation.
